Leaving the aged elm bare is the point: the grain, colour variation and old marks earned over about eight decades all stay visible, so the stool reads as honest furniture rather than a finished one. As genuine reclaimed timber, no two frames are quite alike. Fully assembled.

How old is the timber?
The frame is genuinely reclaimed elm, approximately 80 years old, so natural variation in grain, colour and old marks is expected and makes each stool unique.

Will it fit my counter or bar?
The 650mm seat suits a standard kitchen counter of roughly 900mm. Measure from the floor to the underside of your benchtop and allow 250mm to 300mm of clearance above the seat. At a raised bar of 1050mm or more it will sit too low.

Is it adjustable or does it swivel?
No — this is a fixed-height stool at a 650mm seat, with no swivel or wind-up mechanism.

Are they sold individually or as a set?
Each stool is sold individually. The same stool also comes in antique black and antique white, both at 360mm square rather than 380mm.

How should rattan and natural elm be cared for?
Dust the rattan with a soft dry brush to reach into the weave, and wipe the elm with a barely damp cloth. Keep both out of prolonged direct sunlight, and avoid soaking the rattan, which loosens the weave over time.
