Gimbal Gear Table Clock - Copper

Gimbal Gear Table Clock - Copper | Online8 New Zealand

A table clock suspended inside two concentric copper rings on a tripod-footed pedestal, in the manner of a ship's gimbal mount. The black dial carries copper Roman numerals and a cluster of exposed copper gears at the centre. At 430mm tall it is a desk, console or shelf piece with more structure than an ordinary mantel clock.

Why It Stands Apart

• Gimbal ring mount: The face hangs inside two copper rings, which gives the piece an instrument-like frame rather than a solid case.
• Exposed copper gears: Cogs sit open at the centre of the black dial, so the mechanism becomes the focal point.
• Tripod pedestal: Three splayed feet on a turned column keep it stable and add to the scientific-instrument look.
• Copper on black: Warm copper numerals and rings against a dark dial, a combination that works with both timber and metal furniture.
• Desk and console scale: 350mm wide and 430mm tall — a real object on a surface rather than a small accessory.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is it?
350mm wide and 430mm tall — larger than a typical mantel clock, so allow it proper space on a console or desk.

What does the face look like?
A black dial with copper Roman numerals and exposed copper gears at the centre, hung inside two copper rings.

Do the rings move?
The face is mounted within the ring frame in the style of a gimbal. Treat it as a decorative mount rather than a working instrument.

Is there a smaller table clock?
Yes — the Vintage Gear Table Clock is 340mm tall in antique brass, shaped like an oversized alarm clock with a carry handle.

How do I clean it?
Dust with a soft dry cloth and buff the copper gently with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid damp cloths and cleaning sprays.

Can I see it?
