Lamps do the work that ceiling lighting can't. A single overhead fitting flattens a room and leaves the corners dark; table and floor lamps put light where you actually need it — beside a chair for reading, on a bedside within reach, in a corner to give a room depth after dark. Our range spans antique brass and silver, timber, ceramic, glass and industrial metal.

Choosing the Right Height
Bedside lamp
Around 400–600mm — the shade's bottom edge near eye level when sitting up in bed
Side table lamp
Around 600–750mm, so the bulb sits above your eye line when seated
Console or hall lamp
750–900mm for presence on a taller surface
Floor lamp
1400–1800mm, with the shade above a seated head to avoid glare
Shade width
Roughly two-thirds the width of the table it sits on
Frequently Asked Questions
How tall should a bedside lamp be?
The usual guide is that the bottom of the shade sits close to eye level when you're sitting up in bed — that way the bulb is hidden but the light falls onto your book rather than into your eyes. Since bed and bedside heights vary a lot, measure from the top of your bedside table to roughly your seated eye level.
Are bulbs included?
This varies by lamp. Call us on 09-278-8881 with the lamp you're considering and we'll confirm whether a bulb is supplied and which fitting it takes.
Can I use a dimmable bulb?
In most lamps yes, provided the bulb itself is marked dimmable and you're using a dimmer switch or a lamp with a dimmer built in. A standard LED on a dimmer circuit will often flicker, so check the bulb packaging.
Can I see them lit before buying?
Yes — many are on display at our showroom, 29 Charles Street, Papatoetoe, Monday to Saturday 10am–4pm. Worth doing, since a shade's colour and the warmth of the light are hard to judge from a photograph.

About Dining Tables
How do I choose the right dining table?
When selecting a dining table, there are a few key factors to keep in mind. First, consider how many people will typically be seated at the table. For households of 4 to 6 people, a small dining table should be sufficient. For larger families of 10 or more, a table that is 2.8 meters or longer will likely be necessary. If your guest numbers tend to vary, an extension table could be the most practical choice.
Next, think about the size and shape of your dining area. Ideally, there should be at least 1 meter of space around the table to allow room for chairs and comfortable movement. Generally, a rectangular dining table suits a rectangular room best. If your space is more compact, a square or round table may be more suitable.
Lastly, take into account the colours and materials. It’s important for the dining table to complement the overall look of your space, including the dining chairs, flooring, and interior style. You can choose to match or contrast. Matching typically involves selecting similar colours and materials to those already in your décor, while contrasting means opting for a distinctly different tone or texture to create visual interest.
