Frequently Asked Questions

Is 80kg a problem to move?
It needs two people, and it's worth deciding exactly where it goes before delivery — this isn't a piece you'll shift on a whim. The weight is the trade-off for a carcass that stays square under a full load.

Should it be anchored to the wall?
Yes, we'd recommend it — particularly with young children in the house. At 1200mm tall on a 710 × 450mm base, the weight shifts forward considerably when several drawers are open.

How much wall space does it need?
710mm across and 450mm deep, plus room in front for the drawers to open fully. That's narrower than most five-drawer chests.

How do I care for the veneer?
Dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly. Avoid abrasive cleaners — veneer is thin, so surface damage can't be sanded out the way it can on solid timber.

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell.  We will repair or replace any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.
If for any reason a replacement or repair cannot be done then a refund will be processed. 
 
Fair Trading Act 1986
 
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of New Zealand safety standards, the availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.
 
Returning Defective Products
 
Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement or refund.
 
Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
 
Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product.
 
If you return a product that is not defective and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
 
a.  The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
b.  The product will be disposed of after 30 days from receipt if we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address.
