Abeni Portrait Canvas Wall Art | Online8 New Zealand

A portrait of a woman in a dark headwrap and layered beaded necklaces, lit softly against near-black. Canvas at 80 x 120cm in a black L-frame. It is a quiet, dignified image — no styling tricks, no gimmick — and the near-black ground means it holds a wall without adding colour to a room.

Why It Stands Apart

  • A straightforward, dignified portrait rather than a fashion shot
  • Soft directional light against a near-black ground gives real depth
  • Beadwork and fabric detail reward a close look
  • Black L-frame runs into the dark ground for a seamless edge
  • Only three remaining at our supplier at the time of listing

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does it work best?
A hallway, study or dining wall. Dark portraits need a plain wall and ideally a light angled across them.

Is it glazed?
No — canvas, so no glass and no glare on a dark image.

Does it pair with Aurum?
They share a dark ground and a black frame and hang well together, though Aurum is far more decorative with its gold foil.

How much wall does it need?
Around 1.2m of clear width.
