Ornate framing usually arrives at modest scale, where the whole pattern can be taken in at a glance. At 2200mm tall and 1200mm wide that changes entirely — the scrollwork stops reading as a decorative border and becomes a continuous carved edge running the height of a wall, closer to architectural moulding than to a picture frame. The aged bronze finish keeps all that ornament warm rather than brash, and the glass is bevelled so the border catches light from inside as well.

Will it fit through my door?
Not upright. At 2200mm it is well over a standard 1980mm door frame, and at 1200mm wide it leaves very little room to turn in a standard hallway. It has to be tilted and manoeuvred through every doorway on the route. Measure hall width, stair turns, landing space and ceiling height before ordering, and call us first if access is tight — a mirror that cannot be turned at the top of a stairwell cannot be got into the room at all.

How do I stop it falling over?
Secure it, without exception. Standing 2200mm tall, this has an extremely high centre of gravity and would fall further and hit harder than almost anything else we sell. Strap or bracket it into a wall stud, never into plasterboard. Never stand it on a rug or an uneven floor, where the base can shift. Never place it where a door can swing into it. With children in the house it should not be left freestanding under any circumstances.

Is this an antique?
No. The mirror is brand new and deliberately finished to look aged — the wear in the bronze is applied at manufacture. It gives you the character of an old piece without the fragility, but it is not and does not carry the value of a genuine antique.

How do I clean an ornate frame?
Dust with a soft dry brush rather than a cloth, which snags in the detailing. Apply glass cleaner to the cloth rather than spraying it directly, so nothing runs down into the ornament. Avoid metal polish and abrasives, which strip an applied finish.

What does it weigh?
Considerably more than our records state. The figure held against this product is a placeholder repeated across mirrors of very different sizes, so we have not published it. At this size the real weight determines how many people you need on delivery day — call the showroom and we will confirm.
