Capiz Black Side Table | Accent Stool | Online8 New Zealand

The darkest of the Capiz pieces — a cylindrical form with a geometric capiz shell inlay set against black. Because capiz is translucent, the shell catches light where the black absorbs it, so the geometry reads sharply rather than blending in. The rounded top gives you a genuine surface, and at 450mm it works as a side table beside a sofa or as extra seating when it's needed.

What is capiz?
Capiz is a thin, translucent shell traditionally used across Southeast Asia for lampshades, screens and inlay work. It has a soft pearlescent quality that changes with the light.

How does it differ from the Black & Cream version?
Same height and footprint, different pattern. This one is all black with geometric shell inlay; the other sets a diamond pattern across black and cream.

How do I clean the shell inlay?
Dust with a soft dry cloth. Avoid soaking it or using solvent cleaners, both of which can lift or cloud shell inlay over time.

How is it shipped?

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell.  We will repair or replace any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.
If for any reason a replacement or repair cannot be done then a refund will be processed. 
 
Fair Trading Act 1986
 
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of New Zealand safety standards, the availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.
 
Returning Defective Products
 
Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement or refund.
 
Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
 
Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product.
 
If you return a product that is not defective and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
 
a.  The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
b.  The product will be disposed of after 30 days from receipt if we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address.
