Will it work above a fireplace?
The proportions suit a mantel well, which is what it is named for. Allow reasonable clearance above the opening — sustained heat and soot from an open fire will mark any frame over time, and a white finish will show it sooner than a dark one.
How should it be fixed to the wall?
Into a stud where possible. At 1120mm wide the fixing points sit some distance apart, so mark out carefully from a single reference and check the mirror is level before committing — a wide landscape mirror shows a lean very clearly against a mantel shelf.
