The most decorative piece in the Clarence range. Taupe shagreen resin covers the body, but the tabletop is worked into a diamond pattern and edged with a brushed stainless steel ring — so where the other Clarence tables rely on texture alone, this one has actual geometry to look at. Taupe is a genuinely useful neutral here: warm enough to sit with timber, muted enough not to fight a patterned rug.

One of three round Clarence tables: the White Linen & Black Shagreen shares this size and steel ring, and the taller Enola in Antique Ivory stands on black metal legs. Taupe shagreen also appears on the one-drawer, two-drawer and shelf versions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this real shagreen?
No. Shagreen traditionally refers to stingray or shark hide, but this is a resin finish worked to reproduce that fine pebbled texture — no animal products involved.

Does it have storage?
No — it's a surface only. For taupe shagreen with storage, see the one-drawer, two-drawer or shelf versions.

How does it compare to the Enola?
Same 550mm diameter, but this one is 610mm high with a steel-ringed diamond top, while the Enola is 680mm and sits on slender black legs. This one is the more decorative of the two.

How do I clean it?
Wipe the resin with a soft, barely damp cloth and avoid abrasives, which would flatten the texture. The steel ring takes a dry microfibre cloth.

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell.  We will repair or replace any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.
If for any reason a replacement or repair cannot be done then a refund will be processed. 
 
Fair Trading Act 1986
 
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of New Zealand safety standards, the availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.
 
Returning Defective Products
 
Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement or refund.
 
Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
 
Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product.
 
If you return a product that is not defective and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
 
a.  The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
b.  The product will be disposed of after 30 days from receipt if we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address.
