Cubism Textured Painting Wall Art | Online8 New Zealand

A near-black field broken by two pale rectangles, built up with heavy texture so the whole surface has relief you can read across the room. Canvas painting at 80 x 120cm in a black L-frame, and it hangs either way up. It is severe and confident, and it needs a wall where it can be the only thing.

Why It Stands Apart

  • Heavily textured painting — the relief is what carries the piece, not the composition
  • Two pale blocks on near-black: about as reduced as abstraction gets
  • Hangs horizontally or vertically, and works differently each way
  • Black L-frame merges into the dark ground for a monolithic look
  • Adds serious weight to a pale, minimal room

Frequently Asked Questions

How pronounced is the texture?
Heavy — the paint stands well off the canvas, and raking light across it changes the piece completely.

Will it be too dark for a small room?
It is a strong piece. In a small room give it a pale wall and keep the surroundings quiet.

Which way up?
Either — the supplier confirms it hangs both ways.

Does each one look the same?
Close, but hand-applied texture varies slightly.
