Baskerville Reclaimed Wooden Display Cabinet | Online8 New Zealand
Roughly 80 years in the making — the Baskerville is a reclaimed mango wood display cabinet with decades of real history in every board. The largest piece in the range at 2350mm wide and 2360mm tall, it's handcrafted with iron accents and glass-panelled doors, combining ten open shelves, eight drawers and two glazed cabinets into a single wall of storage. Because the timber is genuinely salvaged, the grain and colour are particular to this cabinet alone, and it ships in two parts — hutch and base.
Why It Stands Apart
- Reclaimed Timber (~80 years old): Salvaged mango hardwood with pronounced grain and earthy colour variation, so no two cabinets are alike.
- Ten Shelves & Eight Drawers: Open display, closed drawer storage and glazed cabinets in one carcass — the range of storage you'd otherwise need three separate pieces to achieve.
- Iron Accents With Glass Fronts: The ironwork adds structural strength at this scale and an industrial edge, while the glazing keeps displayed pieces visible and dust-free.
- Splits Into Two Parts: Hutch and base separate for delivery, which is what makes a cabinet of this size possible to move into a home.

Frequently Asked Questions
How old is the timber?
The mango wood is genuinely reclaimed and around 80 years old, so pronounced grain and earthy colour variation are expected — natural features that make each cabinet unique rather than faults.
Does it need to be anchored to the wall?
Yes, without exception. At 2360mm tall with a hutch sitting on a base cabinet and eight drawers that pull outward, it must be fixed into wall studs at multiple points across its width before anything is loaded into it.
Will it fit under my ceiling?
Check before ordering. At 2360mm it leaves roughly 40mm under a standard 2400mm New Zealand ceiling, so any cornice, ceiling rose, light fitting, bulkhead or sloped run above the intended position will almost certainly rule it out. Villas and older homes with higher stud heights are fine; most modern townhouses and apartments are not.
Will it fit through my doorway?
It separates into hutch and base for transport, which makes it manageable. Each section still needs to clear your entry, hallway and any stair turn, and the 2350mm width means you need a clear, uninterrupted wall run of that length at the destination.
