Franko Side Table | Online8 New Zealand

Solid ash throughout — a pale, straight-grained hardwood that furniture makers favour for being both strong and light in appearance. At 330mm square and 410mm high the Franko is one of the smallest and lowest tables we stock, which makes it useful in a way larger tables aren't: it slides into the gap beside a low sofa or an armchair where nothing else fits, without visually crowding the space.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ash like as a timber?
Pale and straight-grained, with a fine, even texture. It's valued for being strong relative to its weight, which is why it's traditionally used for tool handles and bentwood furniture.

Will the grain vary?
Yes. Ash has a visible, open grain that differs from piece to piece, so no two tables look quite the same.

Is 410mm too low?
It's low by side-table standards, which suits modern low-profile sofas well. Beside a high-armed chair the surface will sit noticeably below the arm.

How do I care for it?
Dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly. Use coasters under hot or wet items — pale timbers show water rings more readily than dark ones — and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight.

Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
 
The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell.  We will repair or replace any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.
If for any reason a replacement or repair cannot be done then a refund will be processed. 
 
Fair Trading Act 1986
 
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of New Zealand safety standards, the availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.
 
Returning Defective Products
 
Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement or refund.
 
Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
 
Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product.
 
If you return a product that is not defective and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
 
a.  The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
b.  The product will be disposed of after 30 days from receipt if we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address.
