GRC — glass reinforced concrete — is concrete with glass fibres through it, which is what allows a 700mm round top to be cast this thin without cracking. The natural concrete tone gives it a grounded, weathered look that sits well outdoors, and the rustic silvery gold edging catches the light along the rim without turning it into a decorative object. A metal base carries the weight.

Care Instructions

Clean regularly with a non-abrasive cleaner. Always use cutting boards, since knives will scratch the sealed surface. The sealer resists a range of substances, but wipe up water, oil and food spills as soon as possible. Clean acidic foods such as citrus, mustard and wine immediately to prevent etching. Use coasters and trivets, and don't place hot items directly on the surface.

What is GRC?
Glass reinforced concrete — concrete with glass fibres distributed through it. The fibres add tensile strength, which lets a wide top be cast thinner and lighter than solid concrete would allow.

Are hairline cracks a fault?
No. Occasional hairline cracks can occur in GRC and are not considered manufacturing faults. They're infrequent and don't affect the table's structure.

Can it stay outside all year?
It's specified for outdoor use. As with any sealed concrete surface, it will last longer if you wipe spills promptly and avoid leaving standing water on it through winter.

Is it a side table or a coffee table?
At 700mm across and 540mm high it sits between the two — larger than a typical side table, taller than a typical coffee table. It works best as a shared surface for outdoor seating.

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell.  We will repair or replace any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.
If for any reason a replacement or repair cannot be done then a refund will be processed. 
 
Fair Trading Act 1986
 
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of New Zealand safety standards, the availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.
 
Returning Defective Products
 
Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement or refund.
 
Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
 
Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product.
 
If you return a product that is not defective and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
 
a.  The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
b.  The product will be disposed of after 30 days from receipt if we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address.
