A low, wide shelving unit in old pine and white iron, running 1800mm across at a height of 950mm. The proportions make it unusually versatile: it works as open shelving against a wall, as a room divider, or as a long low surface with storage beneath, in rooms where a tall bookcase would feel overbearing.

Why It Stands Apart

• Low and wide rather than tall. At 950mm high it sits below sight lines, so it opens a room up instead of closing it in, and gives you a usable surface on top.
• White iron frame. A lighter alternative to the usual black industrial finish, working with the natural pine to keep the whole piece bright.
• Old pine shelves. Salvaged timber with existing grain and character marks, so the shelving has genuine age rather than a uniform factory finish.

At 950mm high on a 450mm-deep base, this sits below the height where tipping is a general concern, so wall fixing is not required in the way it is for a full-height bookcase. In a household with small children who might climb, a strap is still worth fitting.

Can it be used as a room divider?
Yes. The open construction and low height suit it to dividing a space without blocking light or sight lines, though it will look best if the back is reasonably tidy since both sides remain visible.

Will it fit through my doorway?
At 1800mm long and 450mm deep, the length is the thing to watch on corners and stair turns rather than the doorway width itself. Measure any tight turn on the route in.
