A small oak side table from Danish designer Kristina Dam, built in oiled oak veneer over solid oak. The form is deliberately reduced — a gently faceted surface and a slightly elevated base are the only moves — which is what lets a 300 x 300mm piece hold its own as a side table, a bedside table or a low pedestal for a single object.

Can it be used as a bedside table?
Yes — Kristina Dam intends it as a side table, bedside table or low pedestal. At 420mm high it sits below most mattress tops, so it suits a low bed or anyone who prefers the surface to sit under the line of the mattress.

How do I care for oiled oak?
Oil it once or twice a year, or whenever the wood starts to look dry. To clean, wipe with a cloth wrung out in soapy water, then dry immediately with a clean cloth. Do not scrub.

Will the timber change over time?
Yes, and that is normal. Wood reacts to sunlight, humidity and temperature, and grain pattern varies naturally from piece to piece.

Is it solid oak or veneer?
Both — oiled oak veneer over solid oak.

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell.  We will repair or replace any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.
If for any reason a replacement or repair cannot be done then a refund will be processed. 
 
Fair Trading Act 1986
 
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of New Zealand safety standards, the availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.
 
Returning Defective Products
 
Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement or refund.
 
Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
 
Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product.
 
If you return a product that is not defective and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
 
a.  The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
b.  The product will be disposed of after 30 days from receipt if we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address.
