A solid oak dining chair from Danish designer Kristina Dam, oil-treated and cut from the finest oak. The seat and backrest are each slightly hollowed out, which is what makes a hard timber chair genuinely comfortable to sit in for the length of a meal. It arrives flat packed and assembles without tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my dining table?
The seat sits at 465mm, which is standard dining height. That suits a table around 730mm to 750mm high — allow roughly 280mm of clearance between the seat and the underside of the tabletop.

Is a hard timber chair actually comfortable?
Both the seat and the backrest are slightly hollowed out rather than flat, which is the difference. Kristina Dam designed the shaping specifically so the chair stays comfortable without a cushion.

Does it need tools to assemble?
No. It comes flat packed and goes together without any tools.

How do I care for oil-treated oak?
Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. If the oak starts to look dry, treat it with linseed or flaxseed oil. Check the feet from time to time so they do not scratch your floor.

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell.  We will repair or replace any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.
If for any reason a replacement or repair cannot be done then a refund will be processed. 
 
Fair Trading Act 1986
 
The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of New Zealand safety standards, the availability of products in store and the sales techniques used.
 
Returning Defective Products
 
Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement or refund.
 
Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
 
Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product.
 
If you return a product that is not defective and complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993:
 
a.  The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
b.  The product will be disposed of after 30 days from receipt if we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address.
