Check for wiring or pipework before drilling, and have a second person help position it — a square this size is hard to hold level on your own.

Will the walnut fade?
It can, in the same way any timber veneer does. Strong direct sunlight across the frame for hours a day will lift the tone unevenly over a few years, so avoid hanging it opposite an unshaded window if you want the colour to stay consistent.
