MUUBS Shelf Tay Large - Dark Smoked Oiled Oak | Online8 New Zealand

The MUUBS Tay Large is a wide, two-tier wall shelf in 100% solid oak with a dark oil that gives the wood a smoked finish and brings out its natural grain. With clean, balanced lines inspired by Japandi style, it suits a living room, hallway or kitchen for décor, everyday storage or kitchen accessories.

Why It Stands Apart

  • 100% solid oak: real timber with a smoked oiled finish that highlights each shelf's unique grain.
  • Two generous shelves: a 1000mm width gives room for books, plants, ceramics or kitchen jars.
  • Easy wall mounting: built-in keyhole brackets make it simple to hang.
  • Japandi design: the name Tay means "west" in Vietnamese, reflecting a meeting of Eastern and Western aesthetics.
  • Flat-packed: arrives compact for easier delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much weight can it hold?
The Tay shelf has a maximum load of 10kg.

How is it mounted?
It arrives flat-packed and hangs on the wall using its keyhole brackets.

How do I care for the oak?
Oil all surfaces before first use, then monthly for the first six months and 3–4 times a year after that. Wipe with a lint-free cloth and avoid strong soaps or cleaners, which strip the protective oil.
