Around 80 years of history, rebuilt to roll — this reclaimed timber bookcase is salvaged from vintage doors, set into a welded iron frame and mounted on four industrial wheels. Standing 1700mm tall and 900mm wide, it delivers full-height display storage that can still be moved wherever it is wanted. Because the timber is genuinely reclaimed, it carries the marks of its previous life, so the natural-and-black finish reads as authentically industrial rather than styled to look that way — and natural variation from board to board is expected.

How old is the timber?
The timber is roughly 80 years old and genuinely reclaimed from vintage doors, so hardware marks, grain variation and wear are expected — that history is what makes each unit unique.

Does it need to be anchored to the wall?
It depends on use. At 1700mm tall it falls in the range where anti-tip fixing would normally apply, but it is built on wheels to be moved. If it will live permanently in one position, anchor it into the wall studs. If you want it mobile, lock the casters when in position, load the lower shelves first and keep the top shelf light. In a household with young children, fixing it is the safer choice.

Will it fit through my doorway and under my ceiling?
It arrives assembled and rolls on its own wheels, but still has to pass through as a single 900 × 500 × 1700mm piece, so check doorway widths and any tight corner. Ceiling height is not a concern at 1700mm.

Will the wheels mark my floors?
Industrial casters carrying a loaded unit put real pressure on a floor. Check the wheels against timber or vinyl before rolling it repeatedly, and consider moving it unloaded where practical.
