Solid Oak Wall Mirror - Black | Online8 New Zealand
A metre wide is the number that matters here. Most wall mirrors are narrower than the person standing in front of them, which is why they reflect a face but not a room. At 1000 x 1500mm this one returns a genuine section of the space behind you, and that is what actually makes a room feel larger — not the mirror being tall, but it being wide enough to double something worth seeing. The frame is solid oak finished black, so it holds square at that width.
Why It Stands Apart
- A full metre wide. Wide enough to reflect the room rather than just the viewer, which is what creates a real sense of added space.
- Solid oak beneath the black. Hardwood keeps a metre-wide frame square over the years, where a board frame will eventually open at the corners.
- The wall version of our oak floor mirror. Same construction and finish as the 2000mm floor piece, at a size intended to be hung rather than leaned.
- Grain under the finish. The black darkens the oak without concealing that it is timber, so the frame keeps its material character.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does this compare to the other solid oak mirrors?
Three share this construction. This is the black wall mirror at 1000 x 1500mm, SKU CF8095. There is a white version at the same size, SKU CF8096, and a black floor mirror at 1000 x 2000mm, SKU CF8098. Check the SKU if you are matching pieces across rooms.
How should it be fixed to the wall?
Into structural framing across more than one stud. A solid oak frame at this size is heavy and puts real load through its fixings, so plasterboard anchors alone will not do. Locate your studs first, check for wiring or pipework behind the fixing points, and lift it into place with two people — a metre-wide mirror is awkward to hold level alone.
Can I lean it instead of hanging it?
Only if you secure it. At 1500mm it can be pulled over by a child or a pet. Fit a strap or bracket into a stud behind it, never lean it on a rug or an uneven floor, and never where a door can swing into it.
Can it go in a bathroom?
Only a well-ventilated one, well away from the shower. Solid timber will raise its grain under sustained humidity, and moisture will eventually work in behind the mirror backing.
What does it weigh?
More than our records show. The figure held against this product is a placeholder repeated across mirrors of very different sizes, so we have not published it. Call the showroom and we will confirm before you choose your fixings.
How is it delivered?
Shipping charges are available at checkout.
Can I see it?
