Solid Oak Mirror - White | Online8 New Zealand
White mirrors are almost always painted board. This one is solid oak beneath the finish, which matters more than it sounds: at 1000 x 1500mm a board-framed mirror of this size flexes and the corners eventually part, where a solid hardwood frame holds square indefinitely. The white finish keeps it light enough for a small hallway or a bedroom that cannot take a dark frame, without giving up the construction.
Why It Stands Apart
- Solid oak under a white finish. Not painted MDF or board — hardwood construction, which is what keeps a metre-wide frame square over years rather than months.
- A metre wide. Wide enough to reflect a genuine slice of the room rather than just the person in front of it, which is what creates the impression of extra space.
- White where most large mirrors are dark. Large frames are usually black, oak or gold; a pale one is the option for a small or low-lit room that a dark frame would close in.
- Refinishable. Because the frame is solid timber, it can be sanded and repainted years from now — not something a veneered or board frame allows.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a wall mirror or a floor mirror?
The title does not say, but at 1000 x 1500mm it matches our Solid Oak Wall Mirror in black exactly, so it is the wall version of that piece. It can be leaned if you prefer, but it must be secured if you do — see below.
How should it be fixed to the wall?
Into structural framing across more than one stud. A solid oak frame at 1500mm is heavy and concentrates that load on its fixings, so plasterboard anchors alone are not adequate. Mark your studs first, check for wiring or pipework behind the fixing points, and treat it as a two-person lift.
Can I lean it against the wall instead?
Only if you secure it. At 1500mm and this weight it can be pulled over by a child or a pet. Fit a strap or bracket into a stud behind it, never lean it on a rug or an uneven floor, and never where a door can swing into it.
Can it go in a bathroom?
Only a well-ventilated one, away from the shower. Solid timber and sustained humidity do not mix, and the white finish will show water marking sooner than a dark one would.
What does it weigh?
Far more than our records suggest. The figure held against this product is a bulk-import placeholder and is a small fraction of what a solid oak frame and 1.5 square metres of glass actually weigh, so we have not published it. Call the showroom before you plan your fixing.
