Solid Wood Bevelled Floor Mirror - Dark Oak | Online8 New Zealand
This is the largest mirror we carry: 2200mm tall and 1200mm wide, in solid wood with a dark oak finish and a bevelled edge to the glass. At this size a mirror stops being a furnishing decision and becomes an architectural one — it will fill a wall from skirting to near ceiling in most New Zealand homes, and it will not come through a doorway upright. The bevel is what keeps all that glass from reading as a blank void: the angled perimeter catches light and gives the surface an edge you can see.
Why It Stands Apart
- The largest in the collection. 2200 x 1200mm, which fills a wall from skirting to near ceiling in a standard 2.4 metre room.
- A bevelled edge. The angled perimeter refracts light and defines the glass, which stops 2.6 square metres of mirror from reading as an empty void.
- Solid wood, not board. At this span a composite frame would flex and distort the reflection. Solid timber holds it flat.
- Dark oak rather than black. Warm enough to sit with timber floors and leather, where a flat black at this scale becomes a hard rectangle in the room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit through my door?
Not upright, and not easily on the angle either. At 2200mm tall and 1200mm wide this is the most difficult piece in the range to deliver into a house. It must be tilted and manoeuvred through every doorway, and a 1200mm width leaves very little room to turn in a standard hallway. Measure your hall width, stair turns, landing space and ceiling height before you order, and call us first if anything is tight — a mirror that cannot be turned at the top of a stairwell cannot be got into the room.
How do I stop it falling over?
Secure it, without exception. This is the tallest and heaviest mirror we sell, standing 2200mm with a very high centre of gravity. If it goes over it will fall further and land harder than anything else in the collection, and the consequences would be severe. Strap or bracket it into a wall stud, never into plasterboard. Never stand it on a rug or an uneven floor. Never place it where a door can swing into it. With children in the house it should never be left freestanding.
Can it be hung on the wall?
Only into structural framing across several studs, and this is a job for more than two people. Check wiring and pipework across the entire fixing zone before drilling. In most cases leaning and securing is the better approach at this size.
How should the timber be cared for?
Dust with a soft dry cloth and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, which lifts a dark finish unevenly and will show badly across a frame this large.
What does it weigh?
Substantially more than our records state. The figure held against this product is a placeholder repeated across mirrors of very different sizes, so we have not published it. With a mirror this size, call the showroom and get the real number before delivery day — it determines how many people you need.
How is it delivered?
Shipping charges are available at checkout.
Can I see it?
