A full-length mirror 1800mm tall and 800mm wide, framed in burl veneer over MDF and weighing 24kg. Burl is timber cut from the knotted growths that form on a tree trunk, which is why the grain swirls into a mosaic rather than running straight. No two frames can be alike, because no two burls are.

Is it safe to lean against a wall?
Only if it is secured. At 24kg and 1800mm tall on a 43mm frame, this has a high centre of gravity and very little base depth. An unsecured leaner of this weight is a serious hazard, particularly around children or pets. Fit an anti-tip strap or bracket from the frame into a wall stud, and never rest it on a rug or uneven floor.

How is it hung, if wall-mounted?
At 24kg it must be fixed into timber studs with appropriate structural screws. Treat it as a two-person lift and check for wiring before drilling.

Will the grain match the photograph?
No. Burl figure is unique to each cut, so the swirl and pattern on your frame will differ noticeably. That variation is the whole appeal of burl.
