A wall-mounted entryway unit in solid timber with a distressed light blue finish, combining coat hooks, a rail and small drawers. The colour is what makes it: a soft weathered blue that suits a coastal or country entryway far better than the usual natural timber or white.

How should it be fixed to the wall?
Into solid framing rather than plasterboard alone. Coat hooks take sudden downward loads when a wet coat is hung or pulled off, so locate the studs and fix into them, or use appropriately rated cavity fixings if the stud spacing does not suit.
What height should it be mounted at?
Most people set coat hooks between 1500mm and 1700mm from the floor. Mount it lower if it is intended for children to reach.
How do I care for the distressed finish?
Dust with a soft dry cloth and use only a barely damp cloth for marks. Avoid solvent-based cleaners, which lift a distressed painted finish faster than sealed paint.
