A sculptural table lamp from Danish designer Kristina Dam, built from two contrasting materials — cool brushed aluminium against warm solid walnut. The cone tapers smoothly from a circular base to a single apex point, and at 250mm across and 440mm high it reads as an object in its own right whether it is switched on or not.
Why It Stands Apart
- Aluminium against walnut: A cool metal cone over warm timber detail — the contrast is the design, not a finish choice.
- True cone geometry: Tapered smoothly from a circular base to the apex, with no break in the line.
- Solid walnut, not veneer: Real timber in the base, so the grain runs through rather than sitting on the surface.
- Sculptural when off: Enough presence to hold a console or a bedside on its own, unlit.
- Standard E27 fitting: Takes an ordinary screw-in bulb up to 25W, so replacements are easy to find anywhere in New Zealand.

What bulb does it take?
An E27 screw-in bulb, 25W maximum. Do not exceed 25W.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No — the Cone lamps are rated for indoor use only, and specifically not for bathrooms or outdoors.
How do I clean it?
Switch it off and unplug it first. Use only a hard-wrung cloth on both the aluminium and the walnut, and dry immediately with a dry cloth. No chemical cleaners on either material.
Is there a matching floor lamp?
Yes — the Cone Floor Lamp uses the same geometry and materials at 1600mm tall.
Anything to know about installation?
Stand it on a level, even surface, and read the user manual before first use. Kristina Dam recommends consulting a qualified electrician for any wiring work, for both safety and warranty.
