A two metre dining table in black, built on a ribbed base. The fluting is the whole point of it: vertical ribs run the depth of the base, so a solid black form catches light and shadow down its length instead of reading as a flat slab. At 200 x 100cm it seats eight comfortably, with room down the centre for serving.

What is it made from?
The top is MDF with a veneer finish and the base is painted ribbed MDF. It is not solid timber.

Is the tabletop ribbed too?
No — the ribbing is on the base only. The top is a smooth flat surface, so nothing catches in grooves while you are eating or cleaning.

How many does it seat?
Eight comfortably — four a side — or ten with one at each end. Allow around 60cm of table edge per person.

Will it fit my dining room?
Allow at least 90cm of clear space around the table so chairs pull out and people can walk behind them. That means a room of roughly 3.8 x 2.8m as a minimum.

How do I care for it?
Wipe with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry it off. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, which will dull a painted or veneered finish, and use mats under anything hot or wet. Dust the ribbed base with a soft brush rather than a cloth so you reach into the grooves.

Will it fit through my doorway?
The top is 100cm wide, which clears a standard doorway on its side, but a 200cm length needs room to turn. Check tight corners and stairwell turns before delivery day.
